In a nutshell, "Steampunk" is a design style inspired by Victorian-era industrialism: a fantasy style that features Industrial technology, specifically powered by steam, reimagined as if it existed in the future.

Elements of steam trains, industrial machinery, metal gears, keys and clocks, time machines hot air balloons, vintage nautical elements are combined with the nostalgia and fine quality and aesthetic of the Victorian era but recreated as if they exist in a future envisioned fantasy world where the old school Steam powered engines still feature.
